Here's the final version of the crow mask! It was painted with a number of thin layers of black and blue acrylic paint, followed by layers of blue india ink. The feathers were take from a boa that was originally going to be cut up to make guppet hair. With the right attitude the mask can be quite intimidating :)

I have clay again!
I haven't been very good about keeping this blog updated, but I've finally acquired a new bag of clay! This means that I'll be starting a number of new masks again. I'll post photos of them here as I work.
First up is a crow mask that I'm making for a friend for a circus act that will be performed this weekend. This is the clay base shape on my faceform. The next step is to cover it in tinfoil and then papier mache.
